BHMS/ Bachelor of homoeopathy medicine and surgery is a full term academic medical degree course that lasts for 5½ years that includes,
- 4 ½ years are academic years
- Last 1 year is for internship
How many semesters are there in BHMS?
- There is no semester system in BHMS degree course.
- Exam scheme shall be at the end of the academic year.
How many exams are there in BHMS?
There are mainly four University examinations at the end of each academic year.
Before University examination candidate will have to appear in preliminary examination arranged by college.
Colleges may also arrange a mid-term internal examination.
How many subjects are these in BHMS?
There are mainly 12 subjects to study and pass for BHMS degree course.

In order to pass the University examination, student must obtain at least 50% marks in each paper of theory, practical and oral (viva voce) of each subject.
Each Theory paper shall be of three hours duration.
